This is Poop 101—the funny, honest, slightly eeeks, but very necessary guide to why we scoop.

Okay, be honest — how many of us have seen poop on a walk, in a park, or even in our own yard and thought, “Nature will take care of it.”
Not quite.
Dog poop is not lawn food. It can carry bacteria, parasites, and unwanted germs that may spread through grass, sidewalks, parks, paws, shoes, storm drains, and water runoff.
And here’s the thing: when your dog poops on a walk, it may not be your yard — but it is still someone’s lawn, someone’s park, someone’s walking path, and someone’s shoe waiting to happen.
Poop is not just messy. When contaminated poop, grass, soil, or water is sniffed, licked, or swallowed, it can stir up trouble inside your pet’s gut and immune system. For young pets, older pets, immune-compromised pets, or pets already dealing with health challenges, this can become dangerous, debilitating, and in some cases, even deadly.
Bottom line: Scoop it. Bag it. Trash it.
Why do dogs eat poop? The honest answer: we do not know one exact reason. It may be instinctive, learned, stress-related, simply appealing to that dog—or occasionally connected to an underlying health or digestive problem.

Picking up poop matters. But this is not meant to scare you away from the scoop. It is simply here to bring a little attention to why picking it up is more important than most people realize—especially when your pet does their business in a neighbor’s yard, along a walking path, at the park, or anywhere other people and pets gather.
It is really about respect. Respect for the grass, the paws, the shoes, the kids, the pets, the neighbors, and the poor innocent person who did not sign up for a surprise poop encounter.

Yes. And this is where poop gets a little more interesting.Poop on the ground? Please scoop it. Poop as information? Now we are listening.
Your pet’s stool can tell us so much about what may be happening inside the gut.
Digestion, bacteria balance, inflammation, absorption, immune support—it all begins in that beautiful, mysterious little ecosystem we call the microbiome.
This is also where Fecal Microbiota Transplant, known as FMT, comes in.
